We have official Black Friday deal schedules from most of the major retailers, and the first stages of the Best Buy event went live this morning, as you likely already saw from our coverage. And now it’s time to take a lookahead at the Amazon 2026 Black Friday sale.
When does the Amazon 2026 Black Friday sale start?
Amazon has now updated its official newsfeed with some light details on its upcoming Black Friday event for this year. Save for some super obvious stuff, the Amazon official 2026 Black Friday key art, and details on how to sign up for the Prime membership you likely already have, there’s not a ton to go on here.
However, we have been covering these Amazon Black Friday events and those just like them for well over a decade and with that experience in hand, on top of the deal schedules from its closest competitors, we can most likely predict exactly when the Amazon sale will go live, much like we did last year.
As you already know, Thanksgiving falls on November 26 this year with Black Friday the following day on November 27. There was once a time when these were the key dates to watch out for when it came to the best deals, and there will be new offers landing then, but that’s not really the case anymore.

Black Friday has been, and still is, the biggest deal and shopping event of the year, despite Amazon’s Prime Day giving it a good run for its money, and it will once again be getting off to an early start.
In 2024, Amazon’s official Black Friday sale started on Thursday, November 24, and in 2025 it started on Thursday, November 20.
By that logic, the 2026 Amazon Black Friday sale will start on Thursday, November 19.
We already know Best Buy will indeed kickoff its official main event Black Friday sale on November 19, so it seems an entirely safe bet that Amazon will do the same (much like it has the last two years).
There is of course a chance we will see deals landing on Amazon before then, much like we did this morning, and it does tend to offer early discounts on its in-house tech (Echo, Fire TV, and so on) before the sale begins, so watch out for that.

- Price matching/undercutting: Amazon will be (and already has begun) price matching Best Buy and other retailers well before its official sale starts. Best Buy, Walmart, and Target will all start sale events before Amazon will, but Amazon will, for the most part, not remain idle in the meantime – expect price matches and even lower prices on some gear (it already started doing this today).
- Official Amazon 2026 Black Friday start time: As detailed above, we expect Amazon’s 2026 Black Friday sale to start on Thursday, November 19 – a full week before Thanksgiving.
- Main event deals: While the main event will begin a week earlier, Amazon will have an influx of new deals going live at 3 a.m. ET on November 26 and 27.
