Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter Review: One Charger for a Laptop and More
Three USB-C ports, a USB-A port and worldwide plug support make this a handy travel hub, though its 140W output is shared across ports.

The Ceptics 140W Universal Travel Adapter is built for travelers who want to power a laptop and several smaller devices from one compact setup. Its headline is up to 140W through either of its two main USB-C ports when used alone, paired with plug configurations for more than 200 countries. The catch is familiar from multiport chargers: connect more devices and the available power gets divided.

One adapter for different destinations
The adapter supports Type A, C, G and I plugs, covering destinations including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia and Indonesia. Its sliding plugs make switching configurations straightforward. During travel between Australia, which uses Type I, and Indonesia, where Type C and F sockets are common, the reviewer found changing plugs easy and reliable.

The design uses a dark finish with small labels showing plug types and controls. Those markings can be hard to read in a dim hotel room, but they matter less once you’ve learned how the sliders work. The mechanism itself will feel familiar to anyone who has used a universal travel adapter. It isn’t a new approach, though it does the job without a learning curve.

Two AC sockets add flexibility: one universal socket and a separate socket for US and Japanese plugs. Along with the three USB-C ports and one USB-A port, they allow up to six devices to be connected at once, within the adapter’s power limits. That gives travelers room for a laptop, phone and accessories, as well as an appliance or another charger.

A spare replaceable fuse is included. It may never leave its compartment, but it’s useful to have on hand when traveling somewhere replacement parts could be difficult to find.

USB-C power for laptops
The three USB-C ports are the adapter’s main draw. Two of them can each deliver up to 140W when used individually, while the USB-A port keeps older accessories in the mix. For compatible 16-inch MacBook Pro models that support 140W fast charging, the adapter can provide that level of power through one main USB-C port with the appropriate cable.

That maximum applies when the port is used on its own. Use both main USB-C ports together and the adapter can supply up to 100W and 35W, for a combined 135W. Connect devices to all four USB ports and the total output falls to 112W, shared among them. So a laptop charging alongside a phone and other gear may not receive the full 140W.
That’s the practical trade-off: a single adapter can replace several charging bricks, but its power budget has to serve every connected device. For a phone or tablet, the extra capacity may be more than needed. For a laptop user who also wants to charge accessories, the port count and flexible power allocation are more useful than a single high-output charger.
Check voltage before plugging in
The Ceptics is a travel adapter, not a voltage converter. Many modern laptop and smartphone chargers accept a range of input voltages, but that can’t be assumed for every appliance. Check the device’s voltage requirements before using it abroad. The included fuse offers a spare if needed, but it doesn’t convert voltage.
Who should consider it?
Frequent travelers carrying a laptop and multiple gadgets are the clearest fit. The Ceptics combines broad plug compatibility, two AC sockets and four USB ports, with enough single-port USB-C output for compatible high-power laptops. It also handled switching between Australian and Indonesian plug configurations without trouble in the reviewer’s experience.
Occasional travelers charging only a phone may be better served by a simpler, less expensive adapter. For people who regularly pack several devices, though, the Ceptics can reduce the number of separate chargers they need to bring. Its familiar plug design and shared power limits are worth understanding before a trip; its value lies in combining useful coverage and charging capacity in one unit.
