Samsung Galaxy A08 Goes on Sale in the Philippines; Galaxy A18 Set for December 2026

The Galaxy A08 is Samsung’s available-now option in the Philippines, while buyers interested in the Galaxy A18 will have to wait until December 2026. The A08 costs PHP 11,190 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, or PHP 13,090 with 4GB and 128GB. Samsung has not shared the A18’s price or local memory configurations, so the two models can’t yet be compared on cost or storage in the Philippine market.

Both phones use the Helio G99+ processor, include LPDDR5 memory, and support up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. They also share Circle to Search, IP64 dust and splash resistance, and Samsung Knox Vault. Their different screens, cameras, and battery details point to distinct everyday priorities: the A18 has a listed Super AMOLED display and an ultra-wide camera, while the A08’s stated highlights include a 6,000mAh battery.

Galaxy A18: screen and camera details

The Galaxy A18 is specified with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. Its rear camera array pairs a 50MP wide camera with a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera. That gives it three different rear camera types on paper, although the release provides no sample photos or performance results to show how well they work in practice.

Samsung lists LPDDR5 RAM and a RAM Plus feature that uses available storage as virtual memory. RAM Plus can be switched off, which leaves that storage available for photos, videos, and other files. Since Samsung hasn’t announced the A18’s Philippine RAM and storage options, buyers will need to wait for local configuration details to know how much space they’ll have to work with.

The phone’s back cover is made from glass-fibre-reinforced polymer. Samsung describes the material as thinner and stronger while retaining a slim profile. The A18 will come in Black, Silver, and Light Blue. The listed specifications come from the UK variant, and the source cautions that the Philippine model may differ when it arrives.

Galaxy A08 puts battery capacity up front

The Galaxy A08 has a 6,000mAh battery, which Samsung positions for streaming, browsing, and staying connected through the day. No battery test results or charging details are provided, so capacity alone doesn’t establish how long the phone will last under a particular mix of use.

Its processor is the same Helio G99+ used in the A18, and the A08 has 4GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It also offers RAM Plus, which can use storage as virtual memory and can be turned off. Storage options are 64GB and 128GB. For cameras, the A08 has a 50MP autofocus main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP front camera. Its available colours are Dark Blue, Silver, and Green.

The A08’s display size and type aren’t specified in the release. That leaves a meaningful gap for shoppers comparing it with the A18’s listed 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen. The A08 is on sale now, so its price and configurations are clear; the A18’s local specifications and price remain to come.

Shared software and protection features

Circle to Search with Google is included on both phones. Samsung says its Find the Look feature can search for an outfit, while another feature can identify nearby music. Users can also use a voice command or long press to ask Gemini or Perplexity to activate supported Galaxy, Google, and selected third-party apps.

Both models carry an IP64 rating for dust and water splashes. They also include Samsung Knox Vault, described as hardware-based protection for sensitive information. Samsung says each phone will receive up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Those are shared support commitments; the release does not provide a specific update schedule for either model.

“The Galaxy A18 focuses on everyday essentials with well-rounded features, while the Galaxy A08 offers reliability with long-lasting battery life,” said Kristine Go, Head of Mobile Experience for Samsung Electronics Philippines. The A08 is the option buyers can assess against its listed Philippine prices today. The A18’s regional specifications, price, and December 2026 arrival will determine how the two compare for shoppers who can wait.
