The Vivo X Fold 6 pairs a spacious inner display with versatile cameras and useful multitasking tools, but its Rs. 2,19,999 price demands a lot from buyers.

Vivo X Fold 6 Review: A Big Screen, Strong Cameras and a 6,900mAh Battery

The Vivo X Fold 6 makes its case as a premium foldable through the parts that matter in everyday use: a large inner screen, a flexible camera system, and a battery built for a full day of work and entertainment. Its multitasking tools give the big display a practical purpose, too. At Rs. 2,19,999 for 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, though, this is a phone for buyers who expect to use those foldable features often.

Vivo combines an 8.02-inch inner display with a 6.51-inch cover screen, a 200-megapixel main camera, and a 6,900mAh battery. During daily use, the hardware handled switching between apps and more involved tasks smoothly. The most persuasive question is whether that versatility is enough to justify the price.

A polished design built around the camera module

The X Fold 6 keeps a familiar foldable shape, with rounded corners, a flat metal frame, and a large circular camera housing on the rear. Nebula Teal makes the camera circle part of a more distinctive finish; Prism Black is subtler, with ridges that catch the light. Despite the sizeable screen and camera assembly, the phone has a considered, premium feel.

Power and volume controls sit along the sides, while a USB Type-C port handles charging and data transfer. Vivo includes a protective case, a useful addition given the prominent camera module. The phone carries IP58, IP59, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings for dust and water resistance, which adds reassurance for routine use.

Two screens for different kinds of use

Unfold the phone and the 8.02-inch AMOLED panel gives reading, browsing, and video more room. Its 2,504 x 2,312 resolution keeps images crisp, while the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and app navigation feel smooth. Vivo lists 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, HDR compatibility, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Together, those specifications make the inner screen well suited to both media and frequent interaction.

The larger panel can feel closer to a compact tablet than a conventional phone, particularly when reading long articles. The 6.51-inch cover display handles quick tasks such as email and web browsing without requiring the phone to be opened. That flexibility is central to the appeal: the inner screen is useful when there's room to work, while the outer one keeps everyday checks straightforward.

Vivo X Fold 6 Review: A Foldable Phone That Gets The Cameras Right

A camera system with room to experiment

The rear setup includes a 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation, alongside 50-megapixel ultrawide and periscope telephoto cameras. That mix covers everyday photos, wider scenes, and distant subjects. The main camera's large aperture and stabilisation are intended to help in low light, though results still depend on the available lighting.

Two 20-megapixel selfie cameras sit on the inner and cover screens. For rear-camera selfies, the cover display doubles as a viewfinder, letting users frame a shot with the more capable rear cameras. Video recording reaches 8K at 30 frames per second or 4K at 120fps; 4K at 30fps is also available with Dolby Vision. Vivo sells a Telephoto Extender kit separately, as it does for the X300 series.

That range makes the camera package a standout feature for a foldable. The multiple focal lengths offer more shooting options than a basic main-and-ultrawide pair, while the cover-screen viewfinder adds a practical use for the outside display.

Multitasking, software, and battery life

The phone runs Android 17-based OriginOS 7 Fold and uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. In everyday testing, apps switched smoothly and the available memory helped keep background apps active while other tasks were underway.

Origin Workbench is the software feature most closely tied to the foldable format. It can show as many as five apps at once in a desktop-style layout: one fills the main area, while four others remain available as thumbnails and run in the background. That can make moving between apps less disruptive when juggling several tasks. A swipe down from the left, right, or center of the inner screen opens notifications and quick settings.

Vivo's Office Kit app, available for Mac and Windows desktops, supports screen mirroring, data sharing, and remote screen access. Jovi AI can generate images and text, but the reviewer found no setting to turn it off. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are also included.

The 6,900mAh battery is a substantial part of the package. Wired charging reaches up to 80W, while wireless charging supports up to 40W. The reviewer reports that the phone can recharge in less than an hour and appreciates that a wired charger is included.

Who should consider it?

At Rs. 2,19,999, the Vivo X Fold 6 is easiest to recommend to buyers who will make regular use of its large inner display, camera options, and multitasking features. The screen, smooth performance, and high-capacity battery make a strong combination for work and entertainment. If the phone will mostly be used like a standard handset, its premium price is harder to justify. For foldable buyers who want capable cameras as well as a roomy workspace, it looks like a well-rounded option.
